I have never been to Ukraine. I am trying to find the best way to get to Simferopol or Yalta from Kiev. How much does a train ticket from Kiev to Simferopol cost? Is there any better way to get to Yalta than a train?

There are three possible ways (besides renting a car) to get from Kiev to Simferopol. Let’s compare them. (check all links below to make your own conclusion).
(2010) BY BUS.
Kiev-Simferopol. Departure: 17:05. Arrival: 8.00 (next morning). Ticket price: 175 UAH
Kiev-Yalta Departure: 17:05. Arrival: 9.25 (next morning). Ticket price: 200 UAH
(2010) BY TRAIN:
Kiev-Simferopol. Departure: 17:50. Arrival: 8.50 (next morning). Ticket price (second class -"kupe") : 212,53 UAH (plus another 8 UAH for bedding)
Note: There is no way to get to Yalta by train.

Ticket price is from 872 UAH to 1472 UAH. It takes about 1 hour and 25 minutes to get from Kiev to Simferopol by plane.
I guess, it looks like taking a train is the best choice to get to Simferopol.
