International Deruny (potato pancakes) festival.

We invite you to interesting and tasty trip to the international Deruny festival, which will take place in Korosten September 10, 2011.

You don't need to bother how to get there, where to park your car or how are you going to drive your car back home.

September 10, 2011 in the central park of Korosten, Zhytomyr region, will take place the Fourth International Festival of Deruny (potato pancakes).

The first festival was held on 27 September 2008. Potato pancake (derun), baked that day, weighing 118 kg, was listed in the Record Book of Ukraine. Only monument of Potato pancake in Ukraine was opened during the second festival. The third festival Korosteniansi beat their own record for baking pancakes giant.

"The fourth festival of potato pancakes - is an unforgettable journey into the world of national traditional cuisine, extraordinary Ukrainian colors, decorated with Korosten dentity and hospitality!", - reported in Korosten City Council.

During the festival, competitions in “potato pancakes triathlon” is held. Triathlon includes such contests: "Potato pancakes power-lifting" - squat with two heavy jugs full of pancakes;
Throwing potato pancakes in a bowl with sour cream with 5 meters (16.4 ft);
Throwing potato pancakes to the competitor with 5 meters (16.4 ft).

At the festival works a potato pancakes school: experienced cooks will teach everyone to cook these pancakes.

However, the main intrigue of the festival is the competition for the tastiest pancake. Jury determines the winner. For a few hryvnias each taster can get a patent and thus become a member of the jury.

Various competitions, exhibitions, tasting traditional Polesia beverages, exhibits, performances by folk music ensembles are usually conducted.
Also note that last year Korosten Deruny Fest got the rating of tastiest festivals in Ukraine.
